Kraft sack paper is used for packaging and manufacturing of paper bags, sacks, envelopes: etc. It is made from unbleached sulfate pulp obtained from northern softwood. The sack paper has unique tensile strength, the porosity or air permeability of the paper makes it even more durable. Porosity is essential for absorbing energy when the paper is stretched. To reduce moisture absorption, the paper is subjected to bulk gluing. Wet strength is ensured by the addition of wet strength resins, which allows maintaining about 20-30% of strength when the paper is completely wet in water.
