Carbonless Paper

Characteristics:

1. No carbon required - The back of the paper is coated with micro-encapsulated dye, while the front of the next sheet has a clay-based material that reacts with the dye to produce a copy.

2. Pressure-sensitive - Impressions made by a pen or typewriter cause the dye to be released, resulting in a replica on the underlying sheet(s).

3. Clean and smudge-proof - Writing or impressions transfer cleanly without leaving residue on the original document or user's hands.

4. Efficient - Carbonless paper allows for multiple copies to be created simultaneously, saving time and effort compared to sequential duplication methods.
